Prompt tracking becomes theatre when the questions were invented to make the dashboard look busy. This template starts with language people already used and keeps the evidence beside every question.
The best output is not the longest list. It is ten questions your team agrees could change a product choice. Keep those fixed, record the market and date, and review the answers rather than only the score.
Build a buyer-question set from the evidence below. Do not invent demand.
Group the language by decision: choose, compare, replace, check a constraint,
or solve a use case. Remove branded support questions and anything that could
not influence a purchase.
Return 15 questions. For each give: the exact question, decision type,
evidence phrase it came from, likely product/category page, and why a useful
answer could change a choice. Include five questions with no brand name.
Keep natural spoken wording. Do not turn keywords into awkward questions.
Mark weak evidence WEAK rather than making it sound certain.
Category: [CATEGORY]
Search Console: [QUERIES]
Site search: [SITE_SEARCH]
Customer language: [CUSTOMER_WORDS]What to change
Everything in square brackets is yours to replace. Nothing else needs editing.
[CATEGORY]- One product category, not the whole store.
[QUERIES]- Queries and impressions from Search Console.
[SITE_SEARCH]- Terms shoppers typed inside the store.
[CUSTOMER_WORDS]- Questions from reviews, support or sales calls.
How to run it
- 01Use one category
A fixed category produces questions that can share a meaningful competitor set.
- 02Review the evidence column
Delete any question whose source phrase does not support it.
- 03Track a fixed subset
Choose ten and keep their wording stable for repeat measurement.
Questions people ask
Why not ask AI to generate hundreds of prompts?
Because plausible wording is not evidence that buyers use it. A smaller set grounded in observed language is easier to defend and repeat.
